kwiltnutt....I am a Vancouver Island gal. Grew up in Victoria, and have lived in Courtenay and Campbell River as well. My gf in Black Creek was complaining about still wearing her winter jacket while I am melting in Minnesota with temps in the 90's, heat index into the 100's. Seems it doesn't matter where we are this summer, there are challenges with the weather. We have had so many intense storms here, the farmers are concerned about the crops. Lots of grain fields laying flat from pounding rains. :( They should be having lots of sun now to finish ripening. This area usually has the grain all harvested by end of July. Won't be happening this year.
