Shhh, Don't tell Tink...she doesn't need any more ideas. I have to pry her mouth open everyday to get her pills in her...and we don't give her bacon...she gets tooooo gasssssy.....
This reminds me, she should be asleep by now...time to go and shove her pills down her throat.

That is a good one. My cats are barn cats, they THINK they want to live inside, maybe I should just give them some pills :-)

So hilarious!

My technique:

- Keep pill in right hand
- Approach cat from behind
- Sit on cat, locking your feet together so she can't back away
- With left hand, pull her head back toward your chest and pry open mouth
- Aiming CAREFULLY, drop pill into open mouth.
- Hold cat's mouth shut and stroke her throat

Aim is critical! If the pill gets dropped right into the thoat, then she has to swallow it.

PS. Stealth helps.
PPS. It also helps if the cat is deaf ;-)

That was funny.

But, seriously, this MIGHT help -- works most of the time with my cat.

He is on medication for an over-active thyroid and he's supposed to be given pills twice a day.

The vet's assistant suggested Greenies Pill Pockets. Wrap the pill in this thing and usually he'll eat it off the floor or out of my hand. I've started putting a few Temptations treats along with it and he usually just vacuums everything up.

We haven't had to give Kola any pills yet. But the dogs are another story. We have to give Chili Palmer a Dramamine tablet a 1/2 hour before we take her for a ride in the truck otherwise she gets carsick. I used to use peanut butter or cheese but since we don't eat either anymore I had to get creative. Now I use a piece of leftover chicken, but she knows that dang pill is in there...lol So for one dose I get out two pills and she only takes one and spits out the other.

OMG that is sooo funny! I am so glad you shared it and Pam showed it to me

I think Pam from So. Illinois bites her cats tail, when he meows real loud from the pain, she drops in the pill. He might cough a little, but will probably choke it down!
If it isn't to give the little bugger a pill, she must just be biting his tail for fun! whahahaha

Hey are you making fun of Dudley's tail? Poor Dudley, EVERYONE knows that Kitty Fu is mean, and she is the one that bit Dud's tail.
