I hate this economy. It's so hard to find jobs... I looked for three years and then I was able to get a job... then I was "let go" due to it being temporary. So I know how you feel... and I absolutely HATE online applications. They suck!!!

I need a job... I need to be able to make some money towards school... I'm hoping that I only have to come up with a total of 2000 dollars to cover school... but even that could be hard... grrrr...

ANYWAYS! I wish you luck on the job hunt... and there must be a reason you did not get that job (other than someone else getting it I mean) EVERYTHING happens for a reason... maybe this means something better IS coming your way!

there are lots of south americans working here - on the road crews, on the tree services, at all the little jobs you see here and there, for the state, for the county, for the city, for private businesses....

apparently they have no problems getting jobs....

when we drive past road construction: south americans
when we see tree services clearing the power lines: south americans

draw your own conclusions

Maride - I'm sorry it didn't work out. But they now know that you are in need and maybe something else will come from that.

I had an interview last week and was 1 of 10 they interviewed. (didn't get it) The controller was surprised at the number of responses they received to their ad. I can't believe not everyone in Michigan is aware of the 14% unemployment rate.

I never applied for this job, nor even am I sure I wanted it back, but a job is a job, it has good benefits and the pay is good. I was very happy there but didn't feel sad when I left. I get a call today from the manager to tell me that the position was already filled. How can they bring someone's hopes up like that to then dump you without ever giving you an interview?
They found someone who would do it for cheaper.

Sad but that is usually the case 9 times out of 10. When I went to Corporate and during my entire climb to get there, everytime when a person took the spot I left they were doing it for 15% to 20% less than they were paying me. When I retired they ran through 4 or 5 folks before finding one that was a good replacement for me. He was doing my same job for $65,000 a year less than I was.

Its just a fact of life, why pay more when you can get the same thing for less.
