I have Vista on my laptop and when we first got it I hated it!!! It kept deleting my printers and a couple days later it would tell me that I needed to reload my printer. It is better now with all the updates that they have done to it and it is okay now. But I don't load any sewing related items on it, use my laptop to do that which has XP.

none of my embroidery programs were compatible with my vista...I was and still am very upset. Thank goodness I saved my old computer but it is so slow. At least I can use my programs. If your son finds a fix for yours can you tell me how he did it?

The same exact thing happened to me! I'm going to have my son remove windows 7 so I can use my software. Maybe you can do the same?

Vista is a memory hog. All sorts of problems when too much memory is being used so do yourself a favor and install Windows 7. I've been running Windows 7 Ultimate since about 7 months before it was available to the general public and I have NEVER had a hitch.
