Goodmorning everyone.

Just a quick note to let you know I did good at church yesterday.

Hope everyone is doing O.K.

We're haveing snow and rain mixed so it's slippery and icky outside. Accidents all over the place. I'm staying home maybe work on my log cabin quilt. It's going to be a true scrappy quilt. It's the first log cabin I've ever done so it is really interesting.

Have a good day everyone.

Jeanne

Even in a snowmobile track the snow was deep, but I just went slow and watched the furgirls loving it. Little Moira was in up to her neck off the track. She's so cute springing around. I don't go in the woods much in the winter, but it was so pretty today. How can I get lost if I stay in the snowmobile track and turn around after a while? I can't, I hope. My thighs are sore from walking in the deep snow, but that's good - I used some big muscles. That's a yay for me. Yes, I am careful, but I need the fresh air and exercise. I get depressed without it and L & M need it, too. I am aware how dangerous this weather can be. Years ago I had a SIL commit suicide by laying down ouside in the winter. Whoops, just deleted my reaction to that. I don't use that kind of language on this forum.

I chose which green fabric, did some cutting and then decided to do a UFO. I have an almost finished masculine prayer quilt. I need to get it out of here, so I finished putting in the ties and am putting the binding on. I am just taking a break because I wasn't sewing straight.

Changed my dinner plan - am I weird in that I like refried beans better than steak (sometimes)? I had a bean and cheese quesadilla with my salad. The brown rice tortillas aren't bad.

Today started a new week. I wish each of us a successful one, whatever that means to each of us.
Judy good for you. I bet you did use unknown muscles. That ole scal will be goin down quick now. Good luck today everyone.

Well, I did something today that I haven't done it awhile- worked on some blocks for a quilt top! I have had a mental block about a top that I take out to work on every so often. It is a Christmas panel that I have had for years & I decided to do it round robin style after seeing some of the great work on this board. I 've only added a couple of borders around the panel & I was stuck about what I wanted to do next & had some ideas... so after looking at it for a week & not being sure how to do what I wanted I just decided to jump in & make some blocks & see how they looked. They are house blocks & so far I really like how they look with what I have done so far. I got the house block pattern out of an old quilting book that I have & it doesn't use any short cuts that is for sure. I had to cut parallelagrams for the roof & all kinds of triangles. I am used to using squares to make triangles & having some waste. I didn't want to figure out how to do it that way so I used their directions. So far so good. Ah, the challanges to designing (making up!) your own quilt!

Just walked 2 miles on the treadmill & did ok eating over the weekend. I've been reading about the tornadoes in AL- those things are so devastating. We are having rain today & that is a big weather event here in Southern CA!

Have a good eating week everyone!

to report your weight loss in a PM, you weight the last day of the month so I can determine who the winner is for the month by the 2nd.

Good morning everyone.

Today is much better. Nice and sunny but still slippery from yesterdays ice. Hubby says to be careful when I go out until the salt melts the ice. He went to get gas in my van so it was full when I go out this afternoon. I'm so spoiled.

We are quilting the log cabin quilts together - it sure is fun. I'm doing a fat skinny and he's doing a traditional. My goal is to make a wall hanging and his goal is to make a king size quilt for our bed. I may help him with some blocks after I get my wall hanging done.

Well I don't weigh in untill Sunday unless it's the end of the month, the I weigh in on the last day of the month. This week I don't know what I did wrong but Sunday I had gained 2 lbs. What a bummer. I guess I'd better get with it so I lose this week.

Hope everyone is doing O.K. Have a ggod day.

Jeanne

Taboo Tuesday!

I hope y'all had a sucessful week chosing your own taboo! I made it all week without a soda and it wasn't easy, lol. This week our taboo is FAST FOOD. If you need to eat out try to find a SubWay or get a salad or other healthy option. Hamburgers, french fries, onion rings, pizza.... all TABOO! Good luck with this one, ladies!

I have started again on my Farmer's Wife Quilt, it's the one I decided to completely hand work....and it will be the only one I ever do that with. I have the quilting about half finished. Sewing the binding on by hand will be interesting but I will not use the machine at all on this quilt. It keeps my hands busy & that is super, right?

This week's TABOO will be easy for me because I have to drive more than 20 miles to find a fast food place. I sure miss the stuff but it's so much better for me that it's not readily available any more. I'm finally back on track and have been able to keep to my "plan" the last few days without fudging on the calories. Hopefully next month will be more successful. I'm so not in the running for the FQ's this month!

This weeks TABOO may be more of a challenge for me. With work, going to the caferateria...........I had onion ring today but didn't know about this taboo. I will not eat any more the rest of the week....any of the fast food, will get salads and fruit.

I made last week's personal taboo - no ice cream for a week. Woohoo! This week's won't be too hard. Anything they can do, I can do better and healthier so I don't frequent fast food establishments much. Culver's hamburger with no bun so it turns out like a beef salad is as close as I get and I can skip that for a week.

The flannel quilt is pinned and I'm afraid to quilt it because it's going in public. I will leave on the back of the couch a few days until it speaks to me. Pale lilac does nothing for my LR. I delivered one prayer quilt and pinned another. I asked my old walking partner to help me. Since I moved but she had continued with her walking which is wonderful, but we don't get together much. We had a nice visit while we worked.

Dinner tonight was Bob Evans grilled chicken, baked potato and broccoli. Very basic, but very good. My oldest daughter is good company.

Exercise - 40 minutes of shoveling snow and a short walk. Water - not so good. No wonder I have a bladder infection. I know I need to drink more.

I am losing weight and getting healthier.
