Went out to celebrate hubby's b'day last night. Did great - salad with balsamic dressing, salmon and steamed broccoli. Took a roll, but cut it in half and that was all. Felt good that I'm thinking more about what I eat - even out. Brought some home and will have at lunch.

Cindy I have been a bad girl. I haven't mailed my FQ yet. They are in my purse and I am walking out the door in a few minutes to mail them. We don't even want to talk about the food issues recently.

Lately when ever I go out to eat, I always plan that 1/2 my meal is coming home with me. Last night we went out to Applebys, got the 2 for 20 meal deal, had the spinach dip/chips, shrimp & chicken honey pepper meal that had fresh green beans and roasted potatoes. I ate all te shrimp, half the green beans, all the potatoes, and half the chicken. My man ended up eating the rest of the chicken, it wasn't enough for another meal, was going to bring it home for the dog but he wanted it.

it just takes some thinking and planning when we do eat out.

My day has been ok, still not feeling 100%, been fighting a stomach bug for the past 2 days.

My man and I went and did our grocery shopping, got lots of healthy stuff, fruits, veggies, salmon, chicken and some ground beef. I will be making my meals for the next few weeks, planning for my smoothies for in the mornings to rotate with spinach quiche that is crustless. If I plan correctly I will have enough for about 3-4 weeks worth.

It takes some planning but it will be worth it in the end.

I have been good with my eating this week. Somehow I lost 4 lbs between wed am and this morning. Probably gained a little back today. I splurged a little for my birthday. We went to Johnny's Italian Steakhouse. I had salmon and veggies and brought half of it home. Hubby baked an angel food cake and made SF chocolate pudding for the topping.

Quiltermomma-- so sorry to hear about jasper. Jc is sooooo cute and I'm sure she is doing her best to cheer you up and help you heal. I love playing around with numbers, too. My new dgd will be born on May 5th or 6th. I was born on my gm's b'day may 3 rd, and my others gm's b'day was November 3 rd, my half birthday. But they won't reschedule the c-sec, can you imagine?! Lol. But that would be fun, three generations all on one day . 8-). Still haven't seemed to get my eating in any kind of control. Will send sq's on Monday.
Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend and good eating!

Today's tip:

A healthier plate includes protein. Think smaller when it comes to meat portions and look for lean sources. http://www.choosemyplate.gov/food-groups/downloads/TenTips/DGTipsheet6ProteinFoods.pdf
