Is the map of Ireland written across your face?

OK uh yes and no. Before or after the little jugs of beer hit my house? We do the corned beef absolutely but with a twist. I boil it plain no spices (the man would flop). Take it out after 2 hours. In a greased baking dish coat it with mustard, then a mix of brownsugar with a tad of clove powder and press it hard ontop of the mustard.. bake for 30 minutes plus minus at 350.. tastes more like a honey ham. No one knows its corned beef. I get my cabbage fix 100 other ways :)

Well here's the report from the O'Briens! We'll have a welcoming wreath hung on the door and a dancing leprechaun flag hung on the fence flagpole. Hubby will wear green to work and have a drink or two in the evening.
We live away from the rest of the family. But when hubby retires in three years we'll be spending more time celebrating with these musical members of the family:

Newfoundland has a high Irish population and people from Ireland who have visited here claim that the Southern Shore of Newfoundland is more Irish that Ireland!

Some sort of corned beef, whether it be with the cabbage and boiled potatoes or just on rye, we will enjoy.......most likely at the local Irish pub.
"IRISH" you a happy St. Patty's day........

believe it or not here in Tucson we have our own St PAtricks day parade, and of course al the green beer flows around town, someone usually tries to paint a big shamrock in the middle of the busiest intersections of town during the middle of the night
I and one of my daughters has the "map of Ireland" written across our faces, A friend of mine told her after her last visit to Ireland "that a face without freckles,is like the night sky without stars"

The supermarket is selling green bagels. They look horribly unappetizing.
I'll wear my green sweater and pretend I'm Irish for the day. :-D
What I really want to know from those of you who are at least part Irish is, have you ever been told "the map of Ireland is written across your face" and if so, what do you look like?
(I just love the expression. It gives such a sense of a person being connected to the land and country itself.)

I was named after St Patrick, and married a man named Green. I don't NEED the outfit, or the red hair or freckles my friend has to declare myself Irish!!!!
Sadly there isn't much of a celebration here, I miss NYC a lot around this time of year... yesterday was our parade in my hometown, and I got to see lots of photos on Facebook but was here in VA, not there.....
