"You kids are in and out more than a fiddler's elbow" when we would run in and out of the house playing.
"He's slower than molasses in January" when one of us would be pokey. And on the other hand "He disappeared like a fart in a gale of wind" when someone would speed off.
"If it isn't her ass, it's her elbow" about someone who would always complain of aches and pains. And the one I've found myself using with my own kids: "Don't look at me in that tone of voice!" because we didn't dare talk back but she knew we wanted to! LOL

Boy, is this ever true.

This has been so much fun to read and reminisce...and laugh out loud at! Many, many of the quotes/saying posted here I've heard my mom or dad say...And my DH asks me what 's wrong when I bust out laughing! He just smiled when I read some of them to him. Thanks for this great thread.

"Be sure you're wearing clean underwear when you go out, in case of an accident." Priceless!

If you don't finish what you start on Friday, you'll never finish it....that one works (or haunts ) me to this very day. I don't even think about starting something new on a Friday.....
