Oh my Judy that is scary about the injection! I will keep my fingers crossed that everything is okay. I have a difficult time remembering exact colors. Nothing ever looks the same in my house as anywhere else. Gosh I haven't had cauliflower in awhile, now I'm really hungry for it.

Cindy I think the waiting to hear would be so hard, but I'm sure it will be good news.

Me too sewNso, ate the right foods just too much. But I did manage to go without Pepsi for a whole day! Doesn't seem like much, but for me that's a long time.

I think my goal for this weekend is to do at least one hike in the Fall Hiking Spree http://www.summitmetroparks.org/acti...ing-Spree.aspx, maybe I can get the boys to go as well. We used to do this every year when the boys were in scouting, but haven't done it since. It should be beautiful this week.

Irish, I am praying you got the non-tainted injection. How scary!
Something ate the tuna again last night. I sure hope it wasn't a bear! I don't even put out birdseed anymore because of the bears coming around.
My sister has lost over 20 lbs just by eating cinnamon and honey. She is no longer pre-diabetic. She also brought down her cholesterol. Could be the fish oil she was taking or maybe the cinnamon helped too. I think I might start eating or drinking honey and cinnamon. Here's the info. Sorry it is so long.
    [h=5]
    Cinnamon and Honey

Honey is the only food on the planet that will not
spoil or rot. It will do what some call turning to sugar.
In reality honey is always honey... However, when left in
a cool dark place for a long time it will do what I rather
call "crystallizing". When this happens I
loosen the lid, boil some water, and sit the honey
    container in the hot water,
    turn
off the heat and let it liquefy. It is then as good as it
ever was. Never boil honey or put it in a microwave. To do
so will kill the enzymes in the honey.

    Cinnamon
    and Honey
Bet the drug companies won't like this
one getting around. Facts on Honey and Cinnamon:
It is found that a mixture of honey and
Cinnamon cures most diseases. Honey is produced in
most of the countries of the world. Scientists of today
also accept honey as a 'Ram Ban' (very effective) medicine
for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without
any side effects for any kind of diseases.

    Today's
science says that even though honey is sweet, if taken in
the right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm diabetic
patients. Weekly World News, a magazine in
Canada , in its issue dated 17 January,1995 has given the
following list of diseases that can be cured by honey and
cinnamon as researched by western scientists:

    HEART DISEASES:
    Make a
paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply on bread,
instead of jelly and jam, and eat it regularly for
breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol in the arteries and
saves the patient from heart attack. Also,
those who have already had an attack, if they do this
process daily, they are kept miles away from the next
attack. Regular use of the above process relieves loss of
breath and strengthens the heart beat. In
America and Canada , various nursing homes have treated
patients successfully and have found that as you age, the
    arteries
    and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged;
honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and
    veins.

    ARTHRITIS:

    Arthritis
patients may take daily, morning and night, one cup of hot
water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of
cinnamon powder. If taken regularly even chronic arthritis
can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the
Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors
treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon
Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast,
they found that within a week, out of the 200 people so
treated, practically 73 patients were totally relieved of
pain, and within a month, mostly all the patients who
could not walk or move around because of arthritis started
    walking without pain.

    BLADDER
    INFECTIONS:
    Take two tablespoons of
cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of
    lukewarm
water and drink it. It destroys the germs in the
    bladder.

    CHOLESTEROL:

Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of
Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water, given to
a cholesterol patient, was found to reduce the level of
cholesterol in the blood by 10 percent within two hours.
As mentioned for arthritic patients, if taken
three times a day, any chronic cholesterol is cured.
According to information received in the said Journal,
pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of
    cholesterol.

    COLDS:
    Those suffering
from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon
lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for
three days. This process will cure most chronic
cough, cold, and clear the sinuses.

    UPSET STOMACH:
    Honey taken with
cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also clears
    stomach
    ulcers from the root.

    GAS:

According to the studies done in India and Japan , it
is revealed that if Honey is taken with cinnamon powder
the stomach is relieved of gas.

    IMMUNE
    SYSTEM:

Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the
immune system and protects the body from bacteria and
viral attacks. Scientists have found that honey has
various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use
of Honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles to fight
    bacterial and viral diseases.

    INDIGESTION:
    Cinnamon
powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before
food relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals.

    INFLUENZA:
    A scientist in Spain has
proved that honey contains a natural ' Ingredient' which
kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from flu..

    LONGEVITY:
    Tea made with honey and
cinnamon powder, when taken regularly, arrests the ravages
of old age. Take four spoons of honey, one spoon of
cinnamon powder, and three cups of water and boil to make
like tea. Drink 1/4 cup, three to four times a day. It
keeps the skin fresh and soft and arrests old age. Life
spans also increase and even a 100 year old, starts
performing the chores of a 20-year-old.

    PIMPLES:
    Three
tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder
paste. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and
wash it next morning with warm water. If done daily for
two weeks, it removes pimples from the root.

    SKIN INFECTIONS:

Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on
the affected parts cures eczema, ringworm and all types
    of skin
    infections.

    WEIGHT LOSS:
    Daily
in the morning one half hour before breakfast on an empty
stomach, and at night before sleeping, drink honey and
cinnamon powder boiled in one cup of water. If taken
regularly, it reduces the weight of even the most obese
person. Also, drinking this mixture regularly does not
allow the fat to accumulate in the body even though the
person may eat a high calorie diet.

    CANCER:

Recent research in Japan and Australia has revealed
that advanced cancer of the stomach and bones have been
cured successfully. Patients suffering from these kinds of
cancer should daily take one tablespoon of honey with one
teaspoon of cinnamon powder for one month three times a
    day.

    FATIGUE:
    Recent studies have shown
that the sugar content of honey is more helpful rather
than being detrimental to the strength of the body..
Senior citizens, who take honey and cinnamon powder in
equal parts, are more alert and flexible. Dr. Milton, who
has done research, says that a half tablespoon of honey
taken in a glass of water and sprinkled with cinnamon
powder, taken daily after brushing and in the afternoon at
about 3:00 P.M. when the vitality of the body starts to
decrease, increases the vitality of the body within a
    week.

    BAD BREATH:
    People of
South America , first thing in the morning, gargle with
one teaspoon of honey and cinnamon powder mixed in hot
water, so their breath stays fresh throughout the day.

    HEARING LOSS:
    Daily
morning and night honey and cinnamon powder, taken in
equal parts restores hearing. Remember when we were kids?
We had toast with real butter and cinnamon sprinkled on
    it!

HEEE HEEE HEEE! Is it OK to think it is funny if I just heard that Friday was the day from hell at school. Possibly the worst day ever. I love it. One kid had diarhea twice. The kid who is in a harness any time we leave the classroom was completely off the hook. They tried to send him home but couldn't get in touch with anyone. The kid who we think has multiple personalities(he is in first grade) and is bipolar stripped down while in time out and threw his underwear at them etc........She said too much went on to send in a text. The sub was useless. Pretty much sat there stunned.

Meanmom, it would be great if you can get a good laugh plus get a new job out of your day off. You would think the teacher would maybe appreciate you a little more after that day but she doesn't sound like the type of person who would.

Oh my goodness, that does like a day from hell. Sounds to me like you might be a calming influence on the class just by being there, hope someone in power recognizes that.

Pam the info on honey and cinnamon is very interesting. I know cinnamon has some great benefits, but I think the honey would have to be real and probably raw honey. Most of the stuff in the grocery store is really just sugar.

Yes, would definitely need to be real honey. I also know that if you use honey from the area you live, it will help with allergies. I eat a tsp in the morning and another in the evening if my allergies are acting up. Works like magic.

Laurie, the hike looks wonderful. Go today if you have leaves. The winds and rains yesterday removed many of ours, but we are weeks ahead of you. I like a walking stick or exercise poles. Five years ago when I didn't have a dog, I cut down bamboo cross country ski poles to the exact height of commercial ski walking poles. It's unbelievable how much they toned my midsection and took the pressure off my knees. I got Lily and went to one, I got Moira and went to none. I did use them Tuesday on our hike, thank goodness. I am very good with colors, but I had a scrap with me yesterday. Neither the LQS owner or I noticed the cream selvage on one and a blue selvage on the other. It's been washed - it lost a lot of dye and it's Shadow Play. The heads of cauliflower at the farm market are huge - as big as three in the store. My daughter was driving and ready to check out, so I only bought the apples I went after. It's only 1 1/2 miles so it's no big deal to go back. on the Pepsi. In two more days, you'll only want it on very hot days. It's been 18 years (osteoporosis and pop/soda is a no go) and I still want a Coke when I'm tired and it's very hot out. Try sparkling water and fruit juice if it's the carbonation you miss.

sewNso, I generally eat the right foods, though I eat too much sugar, but not the right amounts. Your portions sound like snacks to me. I will try harder. I spent the first 38 years of my life trying to gain weight and I've never learned to eat smaller amounts.

Pam, thank you for the info on the cinnamon. I will print it as soon as I hookup my new printer. I can't repair this one. I've tried all week. The honey is already in my diet - honey and vinegar for muscle spasms, etc., I take a cinnamon capsule everyday, and I eat a lot of cinnamon, but I can easily mix the two and ingest it in some form, but not the recipes that say to boil it. My honey is raw and I don't want to kill the enzymes. I thought when I read your first sentence that your sister ate only cinnamon and honey like a fast. Whoops.

meanmom, Yes, you can get pleasure from the teacher's day from he!! as long as no one was hurt. Let's hope she sees you job in a different light and shows more appreciation after that kind of day. Obviously, you are a calming force in that room. Is this in a regular ed school or total special ed? I'm sorry, but I laughed out loud when I read your account of her day.

I'm not worried about the injection. It's been two months - if I were going to become ill, I'd have done it by now - maybe my honey and cinnamon killed the bacteria, lol. I felt sorry for the young doctor on TV last night. He said they are want to help alleviate patient's pain, not cause more. He was a little pale.

Crazy day. Sun, rain, sun, rain, etc. Have a great day. Take pleasure in whatever you do - be sure to do something for yourself.

I am losing weight and getting healthier. I am going to go pick some mint and makes one of my concoctions.

It's definitely true that once you put something on here or anywhere on the 'Net, it's not private. I was following a Pinterest link to see some Spicy Spirals. I was surprised to see two of mine there, but even more surprised to see the BACK of my son's quilt with his daughters' pictures. I try not to post pictures of my family, especially the young ones and the gorgeous ones. I am very upset but I know there's nothing I can do about it. It's my fault for showing the QB the back of his quilt.

On that subject, do you feel Paypal is secure? D listed his truck on Craigslist and a woman from Florida wants to pay him with Paypal. I think it's a secure thing, but when you are talking over $10,000, I'd question it, too. I told him to call his bank to ask.

I have a horrible pain today. It's been checked by my doctor - he feels it is arthritis from my upper back affecting one rib. It rough today. I may have to hit the heavy meds, but not before I finish driving to the market.

Cinnamon and honey on a banana tastes very good.

Fons and Porter had a segment on partial seams today. They make it look so easy. I think the problem with mine is that my center square where everything connects is only 1 1/4 x 1 1/4.
We have gotten the house somewhat put together and rid of some of the extra furniture. The LQS is closing and turning into a quilt retreat. I gave her a couch, 2 wingback chairs, 2 side tables and a coffee table. I probably could have sold them on Craig's List or a garage sale but I feel good about giving them to her.
I am trying to get things organized to take to my retreat on monday. I will work on my Celtic blocks but I also am taking a UFO - baby quilt that just needs the binding. I have the binding all ready to put on and the quilt squared up. I was thinking I just might want some hand work to do while chatting with all the nice ladies. I also need to get groceries for the meal that I am making.
