Nice to hear you want to move back to Oregon.....I was born and raised here but left for 6 1/2 yrs. after high school but came back.
I live in the Willamette Valley.....I also know of a lady that moved to LaPine from the Hillsboro, OR area.......also a guy I went to HS with lived in Chicago area for 30 plus yrs. and after retirement he and his wife moved to Salem, 3 yrs. ago I think.....
My sister even moved back to OR after living in Los Angeles about 15 yrs.
even lots of Californians move to Oregon because of cheaper living......
it's a beautiful state.......

I think your license plates are inexpensive too, aren't they.Wa. hears such gossip, and I do go to Prtland to shop especially fabric depot.
I wouldn't care if it feels like going home do it......

I used to live in Roseburg. Loved it but husbands got where his allergies were awful. License plates are cheap and no sales tax but car insurance and income tax are horrible. At that time, you couldn't even take your federal tax off before you figured your state income tax. Got a big raise when we moved to Texas. Sales tax can be high but property taxes are cheap and seniors can pay them out in four payments with no interest or penalty. Couldn't afford to live in Oregon anymore.
doesn't keep me from visiting.

My husband and I lived in the Central Oregon area for over 12 years. I will warn you that the water in the LaPine area can be a problem. Some of it is so horrid tasting you can't drink it and some people's wells will go dry in the summer so be sure to check out the water supply situation if it is not on some community supply system. Other than that it is a great area to live in.
