    Hello all,
I gained back nearly all the weight I lost last month while I was on vacation.
Okay, today is the first day of the rest of my life. Back to being good.
    I can do this.

It's all new weight. It hasn't had time to get settled or stuck so it will come off faster. Believe it (while you work on it) and it will happen.

nancia, how aggrevating to cut a finished block. When I am alone, I don't close the cutter when I lay it down. I don't how many nicks I have had from just reaching for it without looking. I guess I'll be in the room next to yours.

Missy, it's not for me to ask, but can you eat cookies and pancakes and have room for your necessary protein? You know they'll still be there when you reach a desired weight.

Jeanne, three cookies isn't terrible unless they were jumbo size. I had two no bakes and strawberries at our coffee hour.

Weight is below a magic 0 - hooray, but I'm not too excited. I celebrated this one several months ago and didn't hold it. I hope I have better luck this time. Xylie, that's 3 1/2 pounds for me - am I still ahead?

Not much going on here. I have some fabrics to get in the mail and the PO closes so early now, so that's first after my exercise program. Then back to piecing the back for the Carpenter Star. It's nearly done.

Did I tell you I hate electricity? I bought a heavy iron at a garage sale just for pressing backings. I used it yesterday. It worked very well, but when I passed by a few hours later, it was still hot. Apparently the off switch doesn't work. Do I trash it or use it just for pressing large pieces of fabric and unplug it after use? It was a blast from the past using liquid starch and putting the dampened backing in the fridge, but it worked out perfectly. My girls played in dresses with very full skirts, so I am familiar with starch. The iron is harvest gold, which means it is probably from the 70s. Gee, I have a food processor to match.

    Have a healthy eating day.
You are so right! There just isn't room in my tummy for both of those things. So, I made a better choice and had a grilled chicken breast and some cottage cheese. Much better choice. Please do not ever feel like you are out of line when asking me questions like this. The way I see it is that you guys are part of my support system and asking those questions keeps me on track.

Dinner tonight is going to be grilled salmon and a salad I have already decided.

I am also going to be playing bingo tonight for the first time in more than 20 years. That is going to be fun!

I wanted to say that I am walking all over the place so I am definitely getting lots of exercise and drinking TONS of water!

As you guys always remind me: I am in control...I am losing weight...I am making better life-long choices.

Thank you again for raising the question...it made me think about my choices for the day.

    Missy

bares-- i'm proud of you! the first step in making any change is realizing and being aware that the change is needed. it's tough to do! our eating patterns are established through our life and for some of us,like me, that's 60 yrs, or more. that's a lot of eating and a lot of repetition of 'bad' habits.it takes a lot of mental dynamite to break through that wall. you have one good day, now add another. then each day work to have one good day again. soon they'll add up, and you'll see results. it can be really scary to say 'this is for the rest of my life', so until you are ready for that step just do it for one day, at a time. adding water, 64oz. a day is a great start. i'm so busy drinking and piddling i don't have as much time to eat, 8). i try to plan activities that are away from the kitchen so it's not always calling my name and saying, 'here i am, i have something yummy for you!' and i try not to have yummy things that are no-nos around. i hope you'll be with us on this thread for the long haul! we need your good spirit! so, as the other addicts say, "one day at a time".
i am losing weight, i am in control, it is up to me. but i don't have my blocks done, so love to all, i'm back to playing at the machine! (if i can still find it....)

Hi all, Need to catch up with all the news. Quite a few pages to read.
Hope you are all doing well.
It's a little cooler here so it's been nice to be outside. I weighed and no change so only 1.5 down from the first of the month. My DH brought home a carrot cake w/cream cheese frosting. I must stay away from that or I''ll be up the 1.5 and more. Shame on him but it is one of his favorite cakes so I cut him some slake. I told him to cut off my hand if I take more than a really small sliver. He was very quick to say no problem. Hope he means it.

I've started to cut out a Christmas wall hanging and went to cut a 4.5 strip and it of course didn't cut through so I went to make a second pass and cut at 4 instead now I may not have enough fabric to complete the required strips so I'm of to see if I have some pella that will mend my stupid mistake. grrr(slaping head)
    Catch ya'll later

After holding on to those stubborn pounds all this week I finally came off the plateau and weighed in at 251. What I realized is all I have to do is go through this process four more times and I should be at my goal.

The weight I lost in the first five weeks may not be the amount I'll lose in the next five weeks but as I look back on the time so far it's been enjoyable and not difficult at all. I may have mentioned that I don't feel like I'm on a diet because I enjoy what I eat and I'm eating often.

I read a very interesting article about white bread which I have pretty much avoided. One of the things it talked about was it can work against you if you're dieting.

Did anyone see the Dr Oz show? Today was on belly fat. I don't care for that term, but it's what he uses. There were several interesting ways of reducing your bf. And three foods, two of which I hadn't heard for that use. Goldenberries??, miso and sauerkraut. I thought he was going to say olives, almonds, olive oil and ?? that Prevention magazine recommends.

He also gave all the audience members a 32" ribbon and said that's the size the waist should be. I know he has recommended half your height for heart health in the past, but 32"????? It looks very small - this coming from someone who had a 21" for years waist and went into the hospital to have a child with a 26" waist. No more!

I missed part of the show. It's run here a day late on another channel. I may have to get up early tomorrow and see it. Should be on his website, too. The audience is comprised of all sizes of women dressed in bicycle shorts or spandex capris and sports bras. I have to admire their bravery.

Very warm here. I want to take the dogs out for a bit before I take my quilt to the church to use the Ping-pong table to pin baste it.

Radiana, glad to hear you're not on your plateau any more. It can get tiresome.

Gail, we've all done that. I hope you have enough fabric to recut or can fix it. At least it's a wallhanging, so it won't be handled. Christmas?? Way to be organized.

Welcome back, elm. You had some lovely weather for your vacation. You'll be back on track quickly.

I have started a PDA for those who wish to follow my health journey.

I will continue to be here and posting, but will limit my conversations to cheering on the weight loss.

How many miles have you gone this week?
I rode 200 today, does that count? and walk 6 minutes in an oxygen study...

Oops! What happened to the weekend? After doing the Boomerang swap, my sewing area has been a mess so I started using Bonnie Hunters scrap users system to get some order to my pile of 'confetti'. That is a lot of work and I have finished the visible piles. Lots left to do in that area.

Then I made the mistake of decluttering my camera card and all the related computer files. I guess I got off lite with only 600 items to move and label. It has been since May 2010.

My next project is to put borders on this bargello so that I can get it finished. It is a graduation gift but I am giving it to her for Christmas.

DH let me workout and walk this weekend. I am having more pain than usual. My eating needs improvement.

We have always planned on leaving Texas once Josh finished school. Now that we are in his senior year, I am real panicked. We think we will be going back to a motorhome - you can see the downsizing that I am looking at. We lived in one for over a year in 1999-2000, but we also left things in storage. We don't wanna do that this time. I'll get rid of fabric before I get rid of photos. And I have a bunch of 'em.

Well, I think I will go back and read what you lovely losers have been up to.

    Hugs.

When I weighed in yesterday I gained 1 1/2 lbs. not what I wanted to see. I'm having a horrible time finding a food plan that is geared for weight loss and also works with the hypoglycemia. Does anyone know of a good web site that might have good recipes for both? Oh I'm going to share something that I don't often share. I have no teeth none - not fake or real, so most meats are out because I can't chew them. Most raw veggies are out also because I can't chew them.

Xylie, when you get some recipes for smoothy in a regular blender please pass them on. I don't have a juicer or food processor just a plain blender,

DH and I are going to Quilt Expo in Madison today. We weren't going to go because we have so many UFO's but decided that we would go and just look and maybe skip the vender area LOL.

Everyone have a wonderful day! God Bless.

Well,I know nothing about it,but am studying on utube.I think irishrose knows more than them probably.I'm hoping she can lead us in that area for those who want to do it.I did find lots of videos of green smoothy's.They all say the same thing, they lost weight, and felt good and had more energy.I could use that. And a lot did get off diabetic meds going raw for even 1 month.Of course I think even like a lot of them a diet in mostly veggies and fruits and juices and some processed workes great and better because you still can have steamed or raw veggies starting out.I feel it's worth a shot. That's one I haven't tried ever.Irishrose, what's your take? Can you help us?[
