PenniF Congratulations on the Quitting Smoking. With our Open Heart surgery patients we are now stressing the importance of quitting smoking first and than we tackle the change in diet. You should be very proud of yourself. And, the weight will come off, one day at a time.

August has been more or less a holding pattern for me but the scale has already started to move along again in September.

Pete, I do have six children , 4 girls, 2 boys. My baby girl just started her 2nd year of college. I am expecting my first grandchild a boy- today. So far no news and my daughter doesn't seem to think it will be anytime soon.

Good luck to all and here's to making some progress for all of us.

I am in. Sent my FQ in last month. I need to fit into a dress for a wedding by the 27th, so I am in big trouble! PenniF, congratulations on quitting smoking. I quit in 2002.

Can I just join in on the chit chat? I've been on a medically supervised liquid fast since May, so I'm not sure if it's fair for me to be in the challenge. I've lost 45+ pounds, but my weight loss has slowed down and I could use some encouragement to stick with it. I exercise a lot and the doctor says that this is why it's taking me longer. Doesn't that just seem wrong!

Welcome to all the newbies. And of course all of us who have been on here for a while. I was up 1 pound in August. I thought it would be worse. I have been doing better so far this month. One thing that should help is I am at a new school. I have been told there aren't nearly as many goodies brought in to this building as the old one. There were sweets of some sort at least 2x a week last year.
It is still so hot at school. Tomorrow is supposed to be the last hot day, 93 with really high humidity. No AC. My student who was rotten last year has been slowly starting to act up this year. Today he decided he was going to go back to his old ways. He didn't quite make it to the principals office but was close. The goal is to document everything and get him in to the behavior unit. The director of special ED for some reason fought it last year. She pretty much never saw him.
I made fajitas for dinner tonight. Lots of peppers and onions with a little bit of steak. They are really yummy. Heading up to the sewing room for my nightly mental therapy. Gotta keep my sanity some way.
