Join the club. I truly never slept WELL after my kids were born, but now I consider it a gift if I get 6 straight hours of sleep.
A real nuisance but you adapt. Sometimes a nap around 4.. 20 min is enough.

I have Ambien, but seldom take it because it leaves me in a fog, if I don't get at least the 7 hours, might talk to DR about changing.

I've noticed my sleep changing as I age. Used to be I was asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow and didn't move until morning. Now nature calls around 3a.m. Sometimes my mind runs, my legs twitch, or I just can't sleep. I have found a full moon almost always messes with my sleep. More exercise seems to help!! If nothing else works, I'll read with a small glass of wine. That usually does it.

Yep, almost every night these days. It's maddening. Then I will go back to sleep about 20 minutes before I have to get up. You have my sympathy.

Yes, yes and yes. I have almost always been a "go to bed and die" person until recently. I blame it on the pinched lumbar nerve that screams at me in the evening, but usually when I lay down, it seems to decompress and not be quite so painful and I have Neurontin oral solution, which is the only thing my PPO will go along with. (This is a laugh, because I pay $40 a bottle and they pay several cents on it.) If I take it I wake up all groggy. If I could have Lyrica, like my Dr. wanted, I wake up refreshed and wide awake. We have decided that if my regular Dr. will give the prescription, I will just pay for it, as I don't use it often and it will last for some time. However, the sleep patterns lately really suck and I don't know why it is happening. Go to sleep, wake up a couple of hours later and that is it for the night. Very frustrating. As for more activity in the daytime, more activity for me is more compression on the spine and more pain.
