Do you have a pattern picked out yet? I have apron patterns but I'm going to look for an older apron pattern. Atleast older looking :-D

Thank you so much for the "walk down memory lane". With each sentence, I could just see my dearly departed grandmother doing all those things. She had aprons to match each dress -- and if someone was coming and you didn't have time to change your dress, a clean apron would do wonders!

Isn't that a quote from Eleanor Burns? It used to be up on her site.

Thanks for the memories coming back to me of grandma and her apron....I saw some at the Goodwill the other day and wondered who could part with them.

Grandmothers with aprons, aunts with aprons, mothers with aprons what wonderful memories we have. Thanks for sharing your memories. I use an apron and so does my g-daughter, she is learning to cook. Oneday she can pass on these memories to the next generation.

I was in the 7th grade when I made mine out of a satin cotton. White with red cherries and red rick-rack across the three sectional pockets. I loved that apron. It was the second thing I ever sewed, the first was a square gym bag ,draw string and our name embroidered on the bottom corner, to put our gym clothes in....... 1962....

My Mother always wore an apron, and would change into a clean one about the time my Dad got home from work. I never wore one until I got older. I guess I'm more prone to getting drips and stains on the front of me now than I was when I was younger. I have some full ones (not bib) that my Mother made me in 1985 that I still wear and cherish.

Full aprons have much more appeal to me as I get older and spill more. I will be sewing some more for myself.
