I have royal blood from the English royalty of Plantagenets (?)... wrong side of the blanket, but because there are only about 3 million of us estimated to exist I'd like a little respect here, please.

On all four sides of my family, I have a male ancestor (greatgranfather, ggreatgrandfather) who fought in the civil war on the Confederate side. Guess I'm a southerner all the way.

My maternal grandmother's sister was in the papers in NY in the 20's because she moved to Bolivia to marry her true love. Sadly, I never knew her, but it made for some interesting reading when my cousin showed me the articles.

My ancestors were the owners of Rose's Landing in Boston, but lost it when they had to flee to Canada when they were somehow affiliated with the wrong side in the Revolution.
My great-grandfather was born in Canada, the illegitimate scion of the Hunter family's son and their French maid. He was put up for adoption and refused to talk about his adoption all his life.

My great-grandfather served in the Civil War and was in some major battles. He came home, got drunk as a skunk and fell down the well and died. :?

My maternal grandfather was a bigamist, my mom from his second (illegal) marriage.

My paternal grandmother came through Ellis Island and was followed from Ireland by the boyfriend who wanted to marry her. She sent him back to Ireland. Only to marry another Irishman from Canada! Love them both! Miss them both. I've never met more of a lady than my Nanny. She always wore white gloves when she left home. Never wore pants, only dresses and skirts. Always had her hair covered when outside. Prim and proper.

Hi, VaNella, I, too, and a direct descendent of Squire Boone, and Daniel is my great great great great great great uncle, too. So we are distant cousins. Let's get acquainted. I'm glad to know I have a cousin who is a quilter. Which one of Daniel's siblings is your ancestor? His older sister, Mary Boone Bryan is my 5 great grandmother.
