Oh, don't hate yourself over spilled pins...I am sure there are better things to hate. I have spilled pins onto carpet and then after I got up off my kneels from picking up all the pins....I knocked them off AGAIN!!! I just sat there thinking, what a silly twit.

I always do that with my thumb tacks when I am putting a quilt on the frame to be quilted. Hate when I do that. Have to remember not to put it on the end of the frame.

Don't be so hard on yourself. We've all done it. I have a magnet that extends out like a car antenna, I think I got it at Menards or someplace like that. It saves on my back when the pins end up on the floor. It's not the perfect but it saves time and frusteration and has been a life/back
    saver.

Don't be so hard on yourself. We have all done similar things...or worse. I've invested in a couple magnetic pin holders (just make sure you don't them to close to your sewing machine if it is computerized). I'm a little OCD and keep each type of pin and color pin separated (could probably get more quilting done if I wasn't so obsessed w/my pins). Auto parts stores have really heavy duty magnetic bowls but they are great for the cutting table but I keep it clear of my new machine. My old Singers I don't have to worry about.

I think this is a funny story about pins- I hope you think it is funny and it helps: I went to an all-girls Catholic high school many years ago. I will never forget one girl in my sewing class who did not want to be there (it was taught by one very grumpy old nun for one thing). At the beginning of every class, this fellow classmate of mine would dump her pins on the floor. Then she spent the remaining hour picking them up. I don't think she ever made anything and the nun never said anything to her! This is the memory that always comes back to me when I even think about spilling my pins. I remember this girl sitting on the floor picking up pins down under her desk. {{{hugs}}}, Linda

Believe me, you're not alone in doing this, I've done it several times. It's okay, really it is.
