This happened so often with me, DH got me a magnetic stick, magnetic car container and I bought a magnetic pin holder. He was tired of walking in a land mine of pins. SO laugh and don;t be so hard on yourself. You're not alone.

I agree, don't be so hard on yourself and be sure to wear shoes while you are working in there. The magnets are a good idea too. Maybe you can find one of your friends who would help you. That would make it go faster and not seem so bad. Big Hugs!

I was working on cutting table and have 2 different containers with hundreds !! of straight pins. These containes both have lids that I don't remember to put back on when not using.
Needless to say I'm sure you can all see where I am going with this. I was so into what I was doing and both containers were sitting on a pile of crap and I pushed something and they both went flying all over into all the crap on the floor and will have to carefully be weeded out now !!!
I'm going to go and have a good cry now.
Now, there, there...if this will make you feel any better...a few weeks ago, my BFF came over and she was sewing and I was cutting out a quilt and we were sharing a bottle of chocolate wine. Dummy me had my glass on the cutting table and ....you guessed it, I spilled it!! Thankfully none got on the fabric, but made a horrible mess on the wall and the carpetting!!

Go to the Walmart Auto parts section or Ace Hardware and get a magnetic bowl that is used to hold screws and small parts. I use this for pins and it is great. It holds them so well I can put the bowl in my bag when I go to class and they stay put, yet I can easily pick up one pin from the pile. And like the magnetic wand, wave it over the escapees and they are instantly captured without any sticks!

Because of the brain injury and balance issues
I ALWAYS have shoes on feet with special inners to keep me balanced.
Only time barefoot is going to bath and bedtime away from sewing pins.
