Hello from Washington State!
I started quilting at 17 but I'm 7 years older than you -- I'll be 59 in September. Quilting and Music are constants in my life. But I'm also quite geeky and proud to admit it, played D&D before it was AD&D I met my husband online in 2001 playing the game Everquest, this year I think it is 15 years of happily married bliss. Have one sone from a previous relationship as they say, he/we are expecting my first and probably only grandchild right around my birthday!
I was a solo quilter for years but it is better with people, and this is a wonderful group of people for help, encouragement and the sharing of ideas. Glad you've found us and become one of us -- Cheers!

Hello edeic, and welcome. What part of Ireland are you in? I am from Wexford, but now live in Herefordshire UK. I think there are some quilting groups in Ireland? But this may have changed of course.

Welcome from one breast cancer survivor to another!...and welcome to the quilting board. You will love the board, and if you like swapping, this is the place! Right now I'm trying to decide on what I'm going to make for our next wall hanging swap...thank goodness I have plenty of time! Check out what has been swapped in the past...you'll like it, I'm sure.

Hi there, unfortunately no quilt groups near me, I'm in Clare. But I've just found out there is one in Limerick, so I'm going to give that a go.
