welcome from MI. Thimble, what's a thimble? Just kidding, but I don't use one myself so can't help you with a recommendation.

I have a soft plastic (almost rubber) one I bought from Joann's. It's in with the regular sewing notions, not the quilting notions. I love it!!

Hello and a warm welcome from southeastern West Virginia. I began quilting in 1976 with a leather thimble...and they work great until you get poked! I made myself learn to use a metal thimble...any kind is fine as long as it has a recessed (indented) top....preferably with the little dimples to help hold the needle. Glad you're here....you'll love the site!
