Live with it! You're the only one who will know it was a "mistake".

I'm 65 this last February.....sometime I can't tell Kona White from Snow. Now I make a string tag and safety pin it to each yardage of white or snow that I purchase telling me what color it is.

I replaced all the light bulbs in my sewing cave and above my long arm with the daylight LED lights. Made a huge difference in matching colors. (I have no windows down there), WARNING do not put them above your bathroom mirror. If it makes you feel a little better, my Mother was still quilting after the MD left her blind except for a little vision out the side of her left eye. She was 94 when she passed. We cut pieces for her and put painters on her tops to follow when hand quilting. They would not take any prizes at the state fair, but the love in them enough to last forever.

Wait till you try to match blacks. I've made several quilts with lots of black in them. In my notes I just say I used 72 shades of black.

Thanks for the replies. I think I need to invest in some better lighting in my sewing room. Daylight kind of light.

Practicality says to leave it, but I don't think I will love it unless I redo it, so that's what I'm going to do. I'll just be planning my next quilt while I'm ripping, haha!

I really can't see what I'm doing with black/dark material. I'd probably have dark blue and green in there too, by mistake.

I've had this happen to me once where a fabric was a shade off of what I thought it was. So I moved the blocks around until both fabrics were pretty much evenly distributed. It turned out to give the quilt another dimension. You don't notice it first, and the eye keeps wandering around not really noticing the different shades.

I really don't mind ripping. I told my mind that ripping is quilting. Now, I don't get upset if I have to rip. I used to get so annoyed with ripping that it took the pleasure away from working toward an end result.

I don't mind ripping either - it's sort of relaxing while watching tv. You'd probably always see the whites even though no one else would notice, so I can see why you'd choose to un-sew what you've done. And Happy Birthday - I'll be 68 this month too!

O Thanks for the Birthday wishes. To you too! Do you think we'll act our age someday?

Been there, done that type of thing several times. Take a deep breath, and rip, rip, rip, email out. I doubt you would be happy leaving it that way.
