I have made boxy stars many times - I love that block - I made some really nice table toppers with that block - sold one at a craft fair for $50.00 - It is a versatile block and easy to make - just figure out which way to arrange the colors and you will be surprised.

What about doing the stars in colors she likes, several of each color and not try to mix the colors for one star, or use one of the colors to make the stars another to make the sashing and the third to make the border. Just a thought.

I think I will do that-make each star one color. I was wondering-has anyone made this with fat quarters (the boxy stars)? I have a fat quarter bundle of 20 of Bliss and she likes that line too so I may as well use something I own (so I can then, of course, buy more bliss for myself)
