I like the traditional, scrappy. I see a lot of beautiful quilts & say so, but I doubt I would make any of them.
I do love to look & dream. :-)

I like them all, from the civil war era to the most modern prints and patterns. I think variety IS the spice of life and if I had enough of them, I would change my quilt on my bed every month or so to something totally different. Love Whole cloth quilts too, seeing such intricate patterns on the fabric is an eye feast.

I think there is a place for all styles. Keep up with what you enjoy doing.

LIke you, I'm in love with the old, traditional patterns. I made a Grandmother's Garden quilt, finishing it a few months ago. My daughter is having another child and I have just decided to do a Churn Dash block mixed with a Four Patche using children's fabrics. Very bright colors but no pink or blue. E

I don't think you're alone on this but my tastes have changed over the years. I still like the old patterns but I'm crazy over using different fabrics offered today. I also love finding vintage fabric and old quilt tops. I'm not into art quilts myself but appreciate the artistry involved.
There's something for everyone and that's what I love about quilting!

I am the same way. I love to go to quilt shows and see all the lovely quilts, but my heart loves the old fashioned ones best

I'm with you. Though a lot of the quilts are very beautiful, I tend to lean towards the old style. Some of the new quilts in the magazines today are just so busy... Big prints next to big prints you can't see where one fabric starts and the other one takes over.

My DH is very supportive of what I do and when I show him some of the pics. in the magazines he just shakes his head and say..."What were they thinking?"

Me. While lovely and creative, the portrait, landscapes and such don't cuddle on the couch.
