I don't have the money or the space for a long arm machine. I would like to try one and might even like to have one but doubt I would ever get one.

I just can't justify the cost for one, so continue to quilt on my regular machine. I'd like to rent one to finish my quilts on, but can't find any to rent in our area of the state. Beside, I don't have room for one, so will have to be happy like I am.

For the same price, I can buy my dream car, '56 Tbird.

there is a quilt shop in Lake Mary that rents their machines by the hour. You have to take a class that costs $35.00 to learn how to use it and the hour starts after the quilt is loaded. They have lots of people doing it that way.
Even if I had the $ for one, I don't have the space.. I quilt my quilts in sections and my machine can handle that plus I do more hand quilting than machine quilting.

In fact, we built our house so that I would have room to put a big floor frame in our living area, so I would have room to quilt. My little simple quilting frame costs pennies compared to a LA machine and serves me very well.
I'd like to know what kind of frame you are using. Sounds interesting. Thanks in advance.

I've been considering a Sweet Sixteen, a Juki or a Janome Horizon to get a larger throat. I tried the Horizon at the Maine Quilt Show and wow, what a machine. Such cute stitches too. Not that important I know but tempting anyway. When I retire a few years down the road, I'm going to get some kind of a new machine so am just researching now for fun.

Before I buy a long arm I would replace my eight needle embroidery machine. I MISS it, but not in a position to start up a business now.

You are not alone-- I have not desire to own one. I am quilting a king size quilt right now on my Saphire and it is doing just fine :D
