The border squares set on point take care of the edges. Beautiful quilt. I rarely use a pattern for a quilt as I enjoy dissecting the whole into manageable elements.
CitrusCountyQuilter: This is exactly how I first saw the pattern,(I also see a four patch) but after seeing how others would put it together by blocks, I realized that doing it by rows would be quite a hassle trying to get the colors in the right place. Even so, I like to do things in rows, and by laying it all out, it could be done that way.

As stated by others, it's an easy block. I can see why you're drawn to it, the colors in pastels add a very pretty and comforting look.

The the lovely colors make this quilt so pretty!

8" finished A-block: color(4)- 2 1/2" sq for the corners, white(4)-2 1/2 x 4 1/2" rectangles,color(1)-4 1/2" sq for the center..
the B-block: (Star)..white(4)-2 1/2" sq for the corners, white & color(4) flying geese- 2 1/2 x 4 1/2, color(1)- 4 1/2" sq for the center.

for 12" finished A- block: color(4) 3 1/2 " sq for the corners, white(4)- 3 1/2 x 6 1/2" rectangles,color(1) 6 1/2" sq for the center...
the B-block: (star).white(4) 3 1/2" sq for the corners, white & color (4)- flying geese- 3 1/2 x 6 1/2", color(1)- 6 1/2" sq for the center.
The flying geese rectangle could be changed to half sq triangles. using a hst sq with the color half on the left and one with the color on the right.:
Hope this helps make it easier..
Useing graph paper to draw out the parts of the block and then adding seam allowances makes it easier to see.
HAPPY SEWING!
