Definitely Baltimore blocks from Elly Sienkiewicz. need sashing/borders/plain blocks whatever to make a lap quilt. Love the fabric on the lyre block.

My first thought was to take a square piece of freezer paper, fold it in half and in half again and start doodling , like we used to do in grade school cutting out snow flakes. Then iron it on to your fabric, cut it out , and then it's ready to be put on your 18" square of fabric. I think that would work. You'd probably only need two .

These Hawaiian blocks would make beautiful cushions.
