Your avatar looks hand appliqued. Is that your first project?

In January at our LQS we have a class starting, Applique 6 ways. Really looking forwrd to that.

Will try to follow this on the group but I am so lost I may never find you again. Will this be under the main topics???

Applique #25 Well if you have been doing this for 30 yrs can you tell me how to applique around little circles that I am suppose to put on my snowpeople for the mouth and for buttons? I cannot do this on my sewing machine. Will it look okay if I do that part by hand?

Would love to join in an applique club. I have been doing applique since 1992 or so. I took a class with Mimi Dietrich in Baltimore. Our project was a Baltimore Album quilt. Took me five years to finish. I've since done lots of applique. I find it very relaxing and satisfying. I have recently learned to machine applique, but it doesn't excite me as much as the hand applique. But it is a lot faster!

I am learning to applique and thought this would be fun for all of us to chit chat here about applique. This way we can all learn together!

TanyaL,

my postings re Machine Satin Stitch Applique is # 774. I have also posted some info for reverse applique in #773.

Hope you find this info useful

Default I never se my posts...

But I , too, raw edge appliqué. I just took my teapots quilt to have it quilted, and my 'long arm lady' said it should be
shown. I was so happy. She is quilting it heirloom quality, too. So the hard work paid off.

Do you needle turn? I'm scheduled to do a class in January. Looking forward to it.
