I have a $20 garage sale machine I keep in a dark corner of our cabin just for that reason! I've never had to pull it out, but I know if I ever got rid of it I'd be forgetting things all the time. Cheap insurance. Yes, it's not the best machine, but when I want to sew, almost anything will do in a pinch.

Sorry to hear this happened. I thought it was bad when I showed up at a class (I thought I was well-organized) with everything but the gas pedal. Lucky for me they had one that worked.

It costs way too much to have the pedal over-nighted to you. I hope you've found a solution!

That sounds like something I would do. Hope you get one soon.

    YIKES!
I have forgotten so much while I travel! One time my husband forgot to pack underpants when we went to China for a month. We went to a Chinese department store and tried to use sign language. We weren't doing too well when a Chinese man, who spoke perfect English, came up to us, saw our problem, and helped us out.........just too funny. We now have a list to pack with, but we still forget stuff!'
Hope you get your machine foot and can have some fun sewing!

The on/off button is all I use for piecing! My foot pedal is packed away, never use it! You might try it, just slow down your speed until you are comfortable.

I also like to use the on/off button for piecing. I like the foot pedal for applique.

Where is your vacation condo? Maybe someone on here lives near there that has one you could borrow...

I would check with the sewing machine shop to see if they have any used controllers...if a machine is left as non fixable, they will not throw out usable parts. Most of these shops have a "graveyard of dead machines".
