Get started right away. I thought I was keeping up with the greats Ha Ha. I had told people that 9 of my 12 grandkids were over 21 so all "Heck" could break loose at any time. It did!Expecting 3 more before the last of April. This will make 10. I sure know how to spend ALL OF MY SPARE TIME! lol

Stairsteps is nice, but my favorite is a small Dresden plate. I still have the (now raggedy) one my grandmother made for me. There are so many nice children's quilt patterns out there. Your problem will be to try to settle on one or two. Congratulations on the new addition! What a neat Christmas present!

Congratulations grandma. you have plenty of time to make a few quilts before the new arrival. that is a hard secret to keep especially when you are so excited about the end result.

lots of patterns to choose from. you may have to buy the fabric and let it talk to you.

Any quilt pattern can be used a s a baby quilt. just pick out one and make it bright and cheerful.

Congratulations. Babies are so wonderful, and even better when you can hand them back. LOL. That's what my mom always said.

Just remember what you do for the first baby you'll probably be expected to do for all - I made 2 for the first grandchild a cotton and a flannel and have now made 2 for each of the next three after but it is a great excuse to make quilts! I'm starting to collect fabric with my first grand daughter for her 10th birthday quilt which will be in 2 years.
