    I wash my quilts on the "Extra Delicate" cycle and dry them on low-heat dry. I agree that wringing a quilt out puts too much strain on the stitching (whether hand or machine quilted) and I wouldn't be able to walk for a month if I tried to do that. My larger quilts (King Size and/or Queen Size) I take to the laundromat having the large load front-loading commercial machines having delicate cycle, then low heat dry. I love my quilts, but I have spinal issues so I won't even attempt to hand wash a bed size quilt.
