I am totally in awe with how much progress this group makes on Virtual Quilting Day. Great work everyone!

I did get the scrappy pink baby quilt cut out and 9 of the 16 blocks made. This quilt was started because I found 40 bright pink squares in my stash and decided to use those along with other pinks for a charity quilt.

During the last VQD, I auditioned many fabrics for setting triangles for a scrappy basketweave quilt. Today, I cut the setting triangles from a dark gold and did not like them at all. Cut another set from a lighter gold and did not like those either. Back to square one. I had stayed away from trying red as there are many reds along the edge of the center. Well - red worked the best. Finally - some rows sewn together.

Had many happy interruptions during the day - but am please to be moving forward with my projects. Looking forward to doing this again in January.

I've done 2 sides of my Yellow Brick Road... hoping to finish it during the Sunday night NFL game. That would put me at 3 of 4 goals completed today. Can't wait to browse this thread for eye candy later!

Wow, it looks like there has been a lot of great progress made today!

I've been working on quilting a queen size OBW for DH & I; it's still not done, but now I only have a little bit more than the borders left to quilt. I started quilting it yesterday, and considering I do FMQ using the sit-down "push through" method, I'm feeling pretty darn good about my progress! It's still stuffed under the sewing machine right now, so no pics yet; maybe next weekend... It's off to work for me bright and early in the morning so I probably won't spend much/any time working on it until the weekend rolls around again. I'm hopeful that WE will actually have a quilt for US this winter though. Last year I made 3 bed-size quilts for family members for Christmas, and didn't have time to work on ours.

Happy quilting!

I didn't post all day - just stayed at the machine and sewed, between doing some household chores. I got a tablerunner made and quilted for a friend - just need to finishing sewing the border on. I also made a throw pillow with piping with some very cool fabric. I was hoping to get even more done, but am happy with what I did accomplish.

This has been so much fun. I was so inspired to go just a little further each time I thought about stopping. It was wonderful. Seems like everyone has gotten so much done. And all the projects are beautiful.

Asimplelife - I love blue and yellow quilts!

Luana -love the Snoopy quilt, I think my "big brother" might need a Joe Cool quilt!

KarenK - The pink scrappy is so pretty, and I love your use of color in the rail fence one.

Thimblebug6000 - gorgeous -- Nuff said!

Kristakz - those are wonderful, they will be so glad to get them.

Caroline S - I think we all want to go to Orca Bay now

Good night! Looking forward to another go next year.
Thank you, Rachel!

I'm done! And I do mean done. After I finished binding the first 6 quilts, I went downstairs and finished quilting the last one. Then I made bindings and attached them to 2 more quilts, and I just finished the handstitching on those. It's 10:30, and I am ready to relax for a little while, before I head off to bed. A very productive day today - thanks Rachel! I never would have finished this much without the incentive of this VQD.

A quick peak at my final 2 quilties, all set for guild on Wednesday.

Oh my, everyone got so much done. .... and now it's Monday morning here. I got busy with unexpected company but I did get another row attached to the cathedral window quilt and am ready to hand stitch some centers. This was fun, watching everyone get so much done.....

This was really fun, and I thank you all for the inspiration to work on this UFO. I loved seeing all the work you were doing and hearing about your day's other activities. I didn't accomplish too much, but more than I would have without this VQ day. I worked on the quilt (pictured) and made some freestandling lace bell ornaments (first I've done and I haven't dissolved the stabilizer yet. Got several rows done on the quilt. The blocks were already done. Thanks again for getting me going!
