I have watched several YT videos and several quilters glue baste every seam for every quilt. I have only used glue basting for appliqué , and difficult seams. I am wondering how many here use it for every seam, every quilt.

some points and or seams need to be p e r f e c t. then I glue baste them. but never all seams all quilts.

I'm like you, applique, difficult or precise seams only. Also I glue baste EPP.

I very rarely do it. I would rather rip the seam half a dozen times than fool with trying to get it glued just right and then dried and then sewn, only to find out, I didn't have it matched up perfectly. As you can guess, I have a love/hate relationship with glue. I have been know to sew a horizontal tacking seam to hold a point in a specific place to get it sewn perfectly. If you leave the ends about an inch long, they are very easy to pull out.

I use glue stick when I glue much easier to be precise and get it right the first time

The glue holds immediately, it only takes a tiny dab every few inches, and it washes out completely. I refill the little dabber container with Roxanne's Basting Glue in the big bottle. I dab my matching points with glue, check to see they match, then sew them. Show quilt makers use a lot of basting glue, a lot!

Glue is my friend. For years I mostly did needle turn appliqué. My background as a drafter makes me to have points where they are supposed to be. I finally purchased tiny glue tips from http://Www.purpledaisys.com. They go on Elmer’s school glue and allow a very thin line of glue then you heat set with your iron. Stitch your seam and if you went beyond the seam line just pull apart. Washes out. Now I can piece and have points.

I glue baste the seams I used to pin, but that's not many of them. I've been thinking I should do it more often since it would improve my accuracy and save me time ripping. I don't think I'll ever glue baste all of them, because some just aren't worth the time, but I can see glue basting a lot more than I do.

I use glue basting with paper piecing quite a bit. I use it as sparingly as possible so the paper is not too difficult to remove. I use Elmer's school glue or the glue pen. It is just one of several tools I use for accuracy.
