I think its great he has taken an interest in the quilt your doing for his Aunt. Its also a good thing hes so good natured about the kidding he got at the LQS. Unless hubbies have sewn, they do not understand the total concept of what is involved in creating that masterpiece your working so hard on. As you continue on working on this quilt, have him come in and sit with you a bit, so he can "see" what is involved. It might just help him understand a bit more. Good luck and be sure to post a pic for us to see!!

Now if you keep it simple and he does his part you do have time. However, plan a more detailed quilt and keep him involved in it so he can see just how much work and time it does take. Good luck. Why not give a nice pic of the quilt and let them know it is in progress.

Oh, come on guys, I just decided what to do for our family "Dirty Santa" gift exchange...4 seasonal wall hangings, probably about 14" x 18". Well, if I don't get off this computer it may be 3 (or 2) seasons! Merry Christmas everyone!

Thanks for the encouragement everyone.

DH already does all the house stuff because he's home and I work full-time, commute 2 more hours each day. So, limited time. I spent a lot of time practicing yesterday and feel ready to tackle this. It can't be done before Christmas, but will be done in January. His family doesn't celebrate Christmas so there's no necessity to make that date.

Nobody really laughed in his face - my poor use of an expression. He's a really easy-going guy and enjoyed the banter.

Better still .... if he's at home .... perhaps he could whip the quilt together for his Auntie, while you work away from home and your extended commute time!

Poor honey. You have to love him. Such innocence.
