My "ugly" quilt is still unfinished & hanging around my sewing room going on 2 years. It keeps me humble!

I think the sashing would pop the squares and you would see how pretty they look. That seems to be the missing link in
the quilt. Offset blocks are something to me I need help with.

Oh sweetie, think nothing of it. I just stuffed a Lonestar in a plastic bag and shoved it in the back of the closet this morning. It won't go anywhere. Maybe sometime in this life I will try again.............

This is what we all call UFO'S- we all have them -feel no guilt , just keep quilting you, in time maybe 10 years will come back to them.

The second picture hands down. The first one looks as if it is mising something. The dark blocks really makes it pop!

I like the second picture better; however, both are lovely. Finish it - you'll be glad you did. If you still really don't like it, donate it to a cause.

I just finished a quilt made from "planned overs". DH said it is very dark, I don't like it. Then I put sashing and borders on, finished it, posted on FB and have been getting rave reviews on it. My grandson says he wants it! Sometimes it takes a different pair of eyes looking at it. I often find that when I am at the stage that you are I don't like the quilt but once the binding is on I quickly change my mind!

I have all the blocks made and spread it out on the floor and I don't like it at all! I thought it might be the color of the setting triangles around the outside edge so I went and bought new fabric for that and replaced them but I still don't like it. There's just something about it and I can't quite put my finger on it. Now I don't even want to finish sewing it together. I want to move on to my next quilt but feel guilty about wasting fabric and leaving it unfinished.
I like both examples but prefer the lighter one.
