I never had a problem ordering wholesale without a tax number. I just call and ask.

Not yet! Beyond my budget, but would like to buy the really good muslin that I like and use so much! For other fabrics, finding new ones is really fun, so I don't want bolts. That's just me; others buy by the bolt a lot.

Actually only twice that I can remember. one time I bought a white on white at Joann's. I think it was about 13 yards. I had a coupon for 50% off I think. I've used it up. Sad. It was a nice color and I often wish I had more.

Then, the second time was more recently. I asked the local fabric shop to get me a whole bolt of their nice black cotton. The bolt was 30 meters!

I have done it several times when I find a great 'almost white' and I have gotten two or three Fossil Fern neutrals that make great blenders. Sometimes these things wind up in several quilts. Then, sometimes I have purchased a bolt to use as backing on a quilt or two. I like to do that with things I know I will use fairly quickly. I also have one on the shelf to make a new dust ruffle for the bed-some of these days.

QuitnNan, When you back your quilts with flannel is it hard to do? Does flannel stretch? Do you put batting in the quilt? I am doing a whirly gig baby quilt and was thinking of putting flannel on the back. Can I stitch in the ditch? I have never sew flannel before.

Call one of the reps listed on the page. Ask for the brand name fabric you want. A lot of the fabric is listed on the left side of the site page. What I do is find the fabric info I like then call Marshall's and order the bolt.

I will buy white, black and muslin by the bolt and lots of yardage from Connecting Threads when they have it really marked down low to use as backing.

I bought three full bolts in Lancaster last year. White on white, red print and brown print. I have used quite a bit of all of them. Well worth the price.

I used Hobby Lobby's 40 % off coupon to buy a bolt of Moda Black. The catch is that you buy it when it is not on sale. I really have enjoyed having that amount of black fabric that is a consistent black color.
