I have the open heart lacy one, and its beautiful. (Since I am on my own now, I buy myself a birthday present each year, and I find I am more generous with me, than I was with my DH who is now my ex!)

I have 2 Roxanne thimbles, I like them, but I have found that I bought the 2nd a little tight. I have a thimble my mother bought for me 39 years ago and I can't find another like it, it is a regular thimble that looks like a small can openercut 1/2 of the top and bent it up to allow your long fingernail to come thru, has anyone seen this?

I use the ThimbleLady stainless steel thimble. Similar to the Roxanne in that it is open-ended and you use the pad of your finger. The opening is larger and the thimble itself is a little longer. They are about $35 each for the s/s. First I tried their plastic one (at @ $10) to see if I would like the style/fit. Both were great so then upgraded to the stainless steel. I will say, the first one I eventually poked a hole through one of the dimples..guess I use the same one(s) over & over.

I've had one for at least 20 years. I don't hand quilt but have used it for doing hand work on bindings etc. I really like it but often find myself moving it from my ring finger to my middle finger and back again.
