Glad to see this thread. I have the same problem and mentioned it to a friend a couple of months ago and she just looked at me like I was crazy, so I thought maybe it was just me. She doesn't make quilts, but sews other things beautifully, so I think she only buys what she wants for a specific project. Glad to see others with this problem, guess I need to work harder on her to quilt.

I agree, it is tough to use them, just find something you know you will keep for a long time, then its not quite so bad.:)

I have some beautiful black fabric with 2-3 inch real red roses on it, almost 3D; and I have no idea of what kind of a pattern I could use to show it off with. I thought of a big block quilt pattern but have not found one yet. Any ideas out there or a kind of a pattern for it. I have some green leaves fabric.also????????? Your help is appreciated. I think we all get stuck at figuring or deciding at times.

You can probably make a Snowball block using the Black Fabric with the red rose. For the Corners of the square maybe use a med to light color green

I just used three one yard pieces from 2005 that I got at JoAnn's when I first started quilting. I thought I was pretty clever to be able to match the fabrics so well. When the Super Nine Patch Baby Quilt site was posted the other day I knew exactly what I was going to make with those fabrics! I put the first one together this morning, and boy, am I excited!!! It may take a while, but the wait will be worth it!

I have totally felt that way but I decided to just go for it and use the fabrics to make heirloom-worthy quilts :)
