mine used to drive me and go in the shops with me. Always encouraged me to buy. Loved taking him with me, but Cancer has slowed him down and I don't tell him about quilt shows or hops, that way he doesn't feel bad that I am missing them.

Thankfully NO!!! I love the man, but can't bear him shopping with me--he gets bored and whiney.

It's hard for me to enjoy myself when I feel like he's right there watching and questioning. He's not mean or negative, he encourages me, it's just my mindset.

Mine would go with me to LQS and stay in the car or find something in the area that interested him. I would go with him to his stores. Don't remember him ever going to a quilt show; however, I'd go with him to train shows. After he died there were times when I'd be going to railroad group meetings and the guy I was driving with would come into the LQS or fabric store. When we've gone train riding in various locations and I wanted to stop in Shipshewana, the guy I was with was always agreeable. He loved Yoder's because it is really a general store with lots of different items to look at. We would find some restaurant for lunch or dinner. One guy could not understand why I would buy fabric, cut it into pieces and sew it back together. He loved to sit by Depots in small towns and watch trains go by. Everyone has different things they enjoy doing.

Yes, but sometimes wish he wouldn't cause he makes me spend more he truly does honestly, "we came all this way make it worth it" his famous quote.

Thanks for all your responses. Kneeling on rice? I imagine that would be uncomfortable.

Mine can't drive anymore and we live in the country with no neighbors, so whenever I plan a day out anywhere he is ready to go. He will wander around the stores or go to ones nearby, helps me pick fabrics, etc. I often give him a little list of things like needles, elastic, cutter blades, etc and he goes off and collects those items for me. Since we drive at least an hour to go anywhere to shop we always make it a day out also going to any places he wants to go, usually a hardware as he does woodworking. Then we eat out.

My DH goes with me almost all the time to LQS, quilt shows in away towns, Houston Quilt Show, etc. He looks, takes pictures and finds fun patterns and fabric! He actually has a better 'eye' for color than I do, helps me square up quilts, and he uses the embroidery machine for me when it is time to embroidery! He is a keeper for me!
