I have one of the origianal 24" rulers. I like it but I also have been using the June Taylor and I really like it.

I have had mine for about a year. Since I have several for scrapbooking, I figured I needed one for sewing. I haven't had any problems with the blade skipping. I find that if I starch my fabric very well, my strips are very straight. The thingy that holds the fabric down does a good job, so there's very little slippage. I'm sure you will love it! Congrats!!

WOW read the reviews and it looks like it's a good "gadget" to have. MMMMM maybe I need one too.

Thanks for posting your honest review after using it. I would never dismiss a new notion as worthless or not necessary without trying it for myself but with a review from an actual user gives me more information of what to expect good or bad. I dismiss opinions of others that have never used one.

You sound like me. While I love the look of quilts where all the blocks are alike, I'd lose my mind trying to make them! I either want to make them all scrappy or make them all different patterns from the same fabric. I just bore too easily, I guess.

I have the Altos Quick cut, I think that's the name, i am in bed. It can do strips and a whole lot more. I would not trade or sell it for anything. My strip cutting has improved, it did take some time and practice to move my hand on the guide. I paid $200 and it has paid for its self.
