Thanks for the feed back. I learned the hard way about using the coupons. Now I take care.

I buy thread a lot. 40% off of Guttermans $7.49 thread is good. Last week they had a $5 coupon. If you bought anything for at least $5 you got $5 off so, I bought more thread and that spool only cost me $2.49. I also bought the self-threading needles for $2.79 and used the 40% off coupon. Every little bit helps.

    Hi Otis -
It's not that you "can't" use the coupon on sale items -it's just that it's not
usually worth it. However, if a sale item were 20% off and you had a coupon for 40% off, they would certainly honor it. You just can't take 40% off the sale price.
I bought my extra large cutting mat at 40% off which saved quite a bit.

I think the coupons are great, and I hardly ever let one go by without using it. The smallest purchase ever made with the 40% coupon, was once when I bought ONLY a thimble that day. I have used mine for as little as a spool of ribbon. Every cent counts today.

I use them for batting (if needed while not on sale), patterns, supplies such as cutter blades, pins, marking pens, etc. I try not to let the temptation of a coupon cause me to buy something I really can do without. Coupons can be dangerous to me.

It is good at all three Joann's here in North San Diego, so I imagine it is good at all of them. I got my 10% card thru QCA when I joined a year ago when they were new. Joann's sends the renewal card each year.

If you belong to a Quilt Guild, go online to JoAnns.com and print out a VIP card. Take that to your JoAnn's store along with your Quilt Guild card and you will get 10% off all of your purchases, including sale items. Great deal here.
