Love your avatar quilt, such pretty colors. Makes me think of spring, which is seeming a long way off. The snow on the ground does make a nice backdrop for quilt pics, though!
Lastly - and the subject of this thread - let me help you justify your purchases by saying that if you are going to have to take unpaid time off, you'll have some lovely fabrics to work with while you are home.

Kate, you've come to the right place for support in your purchases - especially because you already have projects in mind for them! And, as pointed out, the normal cost of fabric in Canada is so much higher than what you paid.
Fabric.com is one that can get me, but lately it's been Whittles when they add their weekly new lines. Sometimes Missouri Star's daily deal - but never when it's a charm pack! And last week one of the local Menonite stores had their annual sale, 15% off their already lower than usual prices. Oh dear, guess I'd better not open that e-mail from fabric.com...

It is ok! Think of it this way it is better to have it when you need it; then to need it and not have it! Some days when it is raining; I would love to start a quiilt project, but I never seem to have the fabric I need. Can not stand driving in the rain! If only I had a abundance of fabric! So trust me it is ok!

Oh I know what you mean and can be of no solace to you. A well meaning friend told me "...you can never have too much fabric." My DH would strongly disagree, but I'm still trying to get him to understand the word "stash." When I started quilting I bought fabric like it was never going to be available ever again and I had to build my stash. Now when I see something I can picture in a project I buy three yards and put it away. I have too much fabric, if there is such a thing, but I can think of something to do with each and every inch of it. So this reply was of little comfort, but know that you are in very good company.
