I sew and do housework just about every morning before coming to work. It helps that I'm an early riser, don't have kids at home, and that I own a business which doesn't open until 9 am. I especially love that my housework is done by Saturday so I can sew (most Saturday's my husband has to work so it's me time for sure).

I brought my quilting supplies in when I had to work Saturday since there wasn't enough work to keep me busy (only responsibility was doing a complete computer backup). It was at a defense department and not once did the guard question what or why I had brought these items into work. It certainly made working on Saturdays not so boring !!

I sew when I'm on the clock, on occasion, because lately I just don't have enough to keep me busy. Fortunately, I work at home about half the time, so I get most of my work done when I'm in the office, and then just have to monitor emails at home. I love sewing, but I feel guilty about doing this when I'm supposed to be working, and I hate being bored at work - it makes the day go so slowly.
Forgot to mention - I have been helping others when they need it but we've gotten our work to such a steady state (I manage a $80M budget) that there's little in the way of surprises, and therefore, no real firefighting. If it had been this way when I started four years ago, I might have enjoyed it more. LOL

I was able to run downstairs and sew for an hour at lunch. I work from home two days a week. It always makes me feel like I am getting away with something. It is hard to come back upstairs and work again though.
