I know it will turn up later. I've got a gazillion seam rippers hiding and several thread snippers. When I find something, I say, "Oh yeah, I remember putting it there."

Of all the things I have lost in my life, I miss my mind the most! I am forever losing things. Bought a really expensive pair of scissors at a quilt show. They sat in my living room still in the package for months. Then they just disappeared! My DH swears he doesn't remember seeing them. I am pretty good about the feet for my machine because I am fortunate enough to have a sewing cabinet and I keep my feet in the little drawer. Walking foot always goes back in the box after using then back in the drawer. I don't even have to get up to do it. So in that respect I am ok (I am sure I have now jinxed myself!)

I sure hope your foot turns up.

I made several pinwheel blocks from scrap pieces and was going to add to them so put them and the extra scraps in the same container. It must have grown legs and walked out of here because I haven't been able to find it since.

Yes, there are indeed Gremlins in your sewing room. And I'm convinced they have the ability to teleport or apparate from there to my sewing room. And then after they wreak their mischief here, they're off to someone else's. If only I had a dollar for every time I've hunted high and low for something that's been in my way for weeks until now that I need it!

I always lose things when I reorganize. I hope you find it soon.

This may sound weird but, I had several things disappear after I moved into a different house. One of my friends suggested I bribe them with "cakes and ale." So I had a mini set of dishes and I put some brownie crumbs on one of the plates and put tea in the cups. Things stopped disappearing and started reappearing.

Take a piece of paper about the size of the missing object, wad it up so that it fits into your hand. Then find a place to put "it" away. Some times this works. You are the same person as you were when you laid it down last time. You will put it in the same place.
