7 colors for the main part, two different for borders. I'm actually thinking about using black as one border.

After looking at your first pick again--I really like them. Yes, they all blend in together, but I think with only seven fabrics that may be a good thing?
How are you doing in coming to a final decision, Happy Treadler?
I just picked out 20 florals for a Surf Song, aka Wildflower Meadow. ;) I'd love an opinion...but I'll start my only post.

I see you changed your fabric choices. The first ones were all the same values.

It's huge - look at it at 75% to see what I mean.

Well, kids have another 2-hour snow delay here. I think they're getting used to me running up & down the stairs with my camera taking pictures. You should see my sewing room with all the fabric thrown all over the place.
So do you think I should not try to blend from one color to the next and just keep all the same color in my dark to light? I just cannot believe how much there is to learn about fabric, and I feel like I'm in 'quilting university'. Because I don't know anyone else who quilts, it's SO very nice to be able to come here and learn so much.
Thank you thank you thank you all for not giving me up me, even though I'm feeling like giving up on myself and not bugging you all. Hopefully there's at least another fabric dummie out there somewhere who is learning along with me.

Geez, and you all may have thought I gave up. Well, I'm still going crazy on my end. I have decided, however, to get other quilting accomplished as I continue to freak out about this next project.
I chose to pick the green colors because I have so many of them in my stash, and now with all my 'color knowledge', I sensed a tealish-ish/cooler undertone and tried to stick with that. I'd love to get away from hunter greens because it seems like that and maroon are my 'safe colors'.
Here are the two attempts. I apologize in advance for my sorry attempt at choosing colors (again).
