I like it, but might add another border that is darker, or maybe just a darker binding.

I think your leaf fabric is pretty but detracts from the cute turkey. Just my opinion but the leaves seem too smalll in proportion to the turkey. Of course it is harder to tell from a picture. Make what you like, after all, we only have to please ourself, right? Just curious, what border color came with the kit? Good luck and hope you will post again when completed.

I think the colorful leaf print compliments your turkey nicely. I'd leave it the way you have it!

I think I'd continue with the leaves border, but trim it down to maybe, 1 1/2", then add a brown tone on tone for the final border. I haven't seen this pattern and it is adorable!

Hi there!
I think you stopped for a reason, something wasn't feeling right, which is why you asked for opinions.
The border fabric is a nice feature fabric, however, to me, the turkey gets lost with it, I think to keep the turkey the focus you need a plainer fabric, a dark tone on tone would be great.

wow, who ever thought of doing a turkey with a twister is so cool LOL!

I love the outer border you have chosen...Maybe it's because you have only done the sides so far. Once you get the same going on the top and bottom, get it quilted and then bind (maybe the same colour as your inner frame) I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Looks like one happy turkey

Ditto may we have where the pattern was from.? The border I would use a plain darker fabric like a picture frame.

Thanks everyone for all of your input. I got the pattern from www.thehometownquilter.com (a local online only quilt shop). The owner, Chris, knows the designer because she's from our town originally. The pattern is called Turkey Twist by Handcrafts By Jennifer. If you don't see the turkey on her website, you can email her. I've seen it in other shops as well. The website on the back of the pattern is www.handcraftsbyjennifer.com. I met the gal who designs them and I'm waiting to buy her snowman that's coming soon, Chris showed me a picture of it as a sneak peek and its adorable (I buy a lot from her online store).
