What great ideas, and so fast! I posted the picture, put a pot roast in the oven and came back to two pages of suggestions. It's so great to have so many helping hands/heads always available. I like the floral idea. It might make the quilt clever instead of tacky.

I'd be worried the black my raise the hideosity factor!
Navy ... that way you stick with the blues that are there, and are just adding another to it.
Batik ... You might find a really nice batik that would blend well with this.
Jungle Fabric or Hawaiian Print ... that has your colours in there.

my high school colors. i actually had pants that color yellow i wore with a royal blue sweater on spirit day. lol. you couldn't pay me to go back to my teenage years. lol.
I agree with the black. black sashing would break it up and frame it. i think it'd make the colors look great.

I like the blocks and the colors.
I think they look cheerful and bold.
I saw some yellow, blue, and green floral at WalMart about a year ago that I think would look great as a border. Maybe a dark green or dark navy for the sashing.
