Oh how I hope you find it!! Just makes me sick thinking of that. All that work not to mentioned the time and money you spent. Good luck!

So sorry to hear about this. I do hope it turns up. I've done similar things so can understand, but that doesn't help you.

So sorry for your loss but we've all done similar things. Could you possibly have brought it in the house and just put it down somewhere. I'll say a prayer you find it in the house. Good Luck. Sue

Everybody does things like that, not that it will make your quilt return to you.

My brother-in-law had researched his family for years, had even gone to the mountains and pawed through poison oak and taken pictures of old grave stones of his ancestors, and after dinner he would sit in his chair and write in a log book everything he'd found to date. He was planning on printing out a family history. Then he would stick everything carefully in a big paper grocery sack beside his chair.

One of his teen sons wanted to go on a date and his mother ordered him to take out the trash before leaving the house....
You can see where this is going....

BIL was so discouraged that he never did try to redo his research, said he'd leave that to his sons if they ever were interested in it, since they refused to go to the dump and look around there for the missing papers and pictures.

I am a ditz, myself, if I'm under pressure, or feeling anxious, or overwhelmed. too much on my mind, etc. I have done similar things. :a(
Well, I do hope it shows up somehow, but I guess you've got to put it in perspective. It's a loss of time and money and heartfelt stitches, but you've still got your brother and you are able to make another one. A big hug for ya!!

Don't beat yourself up too badly, we've all done things we wish we could take back. I am sorry for the loss of your quilt; hopefully it will turn up.

I had some diamond earrings that my late husband had given me. One night I took them off and put them on my dresser (I was being lazy). I saw them a couple of days later and thought "oh I need to remember to move those". Needless to day I didn't remember. I was doing laundry one day and was taking my clothes from the washer to put in the dryer and one of the earrings fell out on the floor. Never did find the other earring. I was so mad at myself.

Not with a quilt top but with all my Christmas sweat shirts.
I hope it turns up.

I just bet you will find it! Many times we have so many things on our minds that we unthinkingly put something down in an unusual spot, only to find it later. It doesn't seem likely that you would thown a bag in the trash without looking in it. Good luck, and hope you find it soon!
