Color, print, and design of the fabric. If it doesn't talk to me I don't care how good the price is. I don't want my stash filled with good prices that I wouldn't use for anything but backings on wallhangings.

All the above!!!

I always check the sale corner first!!
My closest LQS has sales about every 6 weeks or so. If it's a fabric I see in that shop, I will wait for a sale, unless there's only a little left on the bolt.

By pattern and color...and then there's alway impulse!! Especially when it's a good bargin and there's 50% off coupons!

Mostly impulse, sometimes by the pattern. If it's a fabric I just love, I'll stash it. If I have a pattern or project that I need to make I'll buy specific fabric to make it. Now that I have a decent stash, I'm finding that I have most of the fabric I need to make a specific pattern.

I have yet to make a quilt using the same fabric as the pattern, and a lot of times I dont' even use the same color-way.

I like it, then I look at price. Price is very important these days.

Then, I go to the sections/colors that hold the collections I have that I build on.

Hee Hee ME too!!!!! i dont have a budget so I end up with an armful by the time im done..
