Once, a very long time ago my DH really screwed up my sewing machine trying to hem a pair of cut off jeans while I was at work. I did not know that he had been stupid enough, yes I said stupid, to mess with my sewing machine. The machine had just been in for a cleaning, etc. etc., because I was planning to take a week's vacation to sew school clothes for DD. Only when I said down to begin sewing did I learn that the machine would not sew and no amount of adjusting would fix it. He had to take the machine back into the repairman and was again stupid enough to call me from the repairman's shop. I bet that man still remembers the screaming/cursing from the other end of the phone. NEEDLESS to say that was the end of anyone in the house even getting near the sewing machine AND I went shopping for school clothes with HIS credit card.
