I thought it was quite cute that she gave you fabric and then said she wanted a quilt from it! It shows she understands your joy at the "doing" and your joy at the giving the finished product made with love!
And I think a D4P would be grand.
Be sure to show us the finished quilt!

I read through all the posts and understand the close relationship you have with your DD. I think it's sweet.

Didn't see anyone suggesting Snail's Trail. It's striking in two colours.

Love this idea. Here is a pic (from my "Ideas" folder) of a 10 minute block quilt. Eliminate the black around the center "faux" cathedral window and "voila", a 2 fabric block. Alternating the 2 blocks would be gorgeous.

Recently, someone posted about a red/black hunter star from the fons and porter site. You might like that. They used a variety of red and black prints, so that might change the outcome a bit. I'm not a good visualizer, myself, so I'd have to do what I suggested earlier and fold/lay them out to see.

hugs, charlotte

I would make it as she asked and she may love it
If not, she may be more reliant on your suggestions next time.

I agree with Bluelady. I think it is great that your daughter knows you well enough to understand your joy both in quilting and in creating things for her. I think the fabric would work for lots of geometric designs. I especially like the cracker quilt above and a basket lattice.

These are the three patterns I would use to decide... all three would be great with only two colors... Hope you'll show us the finished product!!

There's a booklet called "Turning Twenty". It uses 20 fat quarters but I think you need more than two patterns.

Nygal, that was my first thought. The gift was for her mother. I would think, her mother could do anything she wants with it without having her daughter tell her what to do with it.
