I think the quilt police have my name...

Silly me, I like crocheting, embroidery and once upon a time cross stitch, but..... I like hand quilting and finishing my binding by hand. But in the end, it is your quilt, your work and who cares how you complete you work. Quilt police or quilt snobs can do their own their way and you, yours!

I agree there are QP out there. Just don't let them get to you. It is your quilt and you can do with it what you want.
That said I am one that loves to do the handwork on the binding. But I do think the machine sewn bindings will probably last a lot longer than the hand sewn ones. I am a quilt broker in that I help others sell their quilts. A few years ago I had about 35 quilts that a lady had in her home when she died. Her husband asked me to help sell them. Many were made in the late 1800 and early 1900s. The main complaint with them was the binding was coming off. Some I was able to fix, but some I sold as is because they were too far gone.
Keep quilting the way you want to. Do not worry about what others say. Quilting is fun.
